The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez lands a body shot.
The crowd cheers as Alvarez lands an impressive looking overhand right. Zimmer doesn't seem phased though.
Alvarez scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Alvarez lands a nice shot that snaps Zimmer's head back.

Zimmer takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Zimmer tries to move into range but Alvarez moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Alvarez cracks Zimmer with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Alvarez has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Alvarez jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Alvarez lands a jab to Zimmer's midsection.
Alvarez scores with a hook to the body. Zimmer takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Alvarez is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Zimmer had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Zimmer shoots in for a double leg but Alvarez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Aaron Alvarez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Zimmer with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Alvarez to score with a decent uppercut.

Alvarez fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Zimmer on the side of the head.
Alvarez lands a nice hook to Zimmer's body. Zimmer takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Zimmer takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Zimmer takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Alvarez dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Alvarez jabs Zimmer right on the nose. Zimmer blinks but takes it well.
Alvarez throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Zimmer stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Alvarez slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Zimmer looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A punch lands to the side of Zimmer 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Zimmer throws a wild hook but Alvarez just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Zimmer gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Alvarez raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
