PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Brady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Harris told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom Brady!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Harris!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Columbo Gatti and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris tests Brady's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Brady has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Midnight MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Harris looks to land a right hand but Brady moved out of range.
Harris swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Brady.
Harris throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Brady's head.

Brady drops down looking for a counter takedown but Harris sprawls and moves away.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Harris can do anything to dispel that myth.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brady accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Harris is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Brady is controlling him.

Harris manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Harris wants to break free but Brady has control.
Harris can't break the clinch.
Harris is pressed up against the cage. Brady has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Harris down to the mat. Harris avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Harris has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Brady tries to move into range but Harris moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

As Harris tries to get set, Brady tries to push him back and clinch up but Harris manages to avoid the attempt.

Paul Harris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

I've got Harris winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Paul Harris decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
