Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Conor McGregor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlos Ortega!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGregor moves out of range as Ortega strikes.
McGregor definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Ortega changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
McGregor tries to clinch up but Ortega circles away and keeps his distance.
McGregor really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McGregor thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ortega slips under a jab.
Ortega gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

McGregor tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ortega throws a blind hook that connects with the side of McGregors head.
Ortega lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Ortega lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
McGregor with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Ortega breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McGregor walks into a left hand.
McGregor rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling Ortega to counter with a crisp jab.
A swing and a miss from McGregor.
McGregor with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ortega to score with a decent uppercut.
McGregor is rocked!

Ortega moves out of range of the strikes.
Conor McGregor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ortega connects with a crisp jab.
Oh McGregor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGregor uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ortega.
McGregor seems to have got his legs back now.
Ortega fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McGregor takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
McGregor lands a nice looking kick to the body. Ortega takes a step back to recover.
Ortega lands a big uppercut and McGregor crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but McGregor looks OK. Ortega waves McGregor back to his feet!
Ortega cracks McGregor with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends McGregor tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Ortega pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! McGregor is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlos Ortega!
