Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Moses Huffman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Earl!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Earl throws a quick inside leg kick.
Earl tries for a takedown but Huffman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
James Earl seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Earl misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Huffman.
Earl throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Huffman counters with a single leg into guard. Earl didn't expect that.
Huffman stands up over Earl, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Huffman is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Earl wants to hit a switch here but Huffman passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Earl there!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Huffman with a couple of short strikes.

Earl is wriggling around trying to escape.
Earl wants to control but Huffman is having none of it.
Huffman landing strikes from the mount and Earl is in trouble!

Huffman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Huffman connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Earl tries to lock up and control but Huffman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Earl is working to get back to half guard.
Earl tries to improve his position but Huffman has taken his back! Huffman has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Earl tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Huffman pushes Earl away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Moses Huffman!
