With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vasily Oflifanov!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksandr Martynov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oflifanov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fernandez tries to clinch but Oflifanov moves out of range.
Oflifanov tries a head kick but it misses.
An attempted straight right counter from Fernandez misses the target.
Fernandez tries to clinch but Oflifanov is having none of it.
Fernandez moves to clinch but Oflifanov breaks away

and Oflifanov counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Fernandez!

Oflifanov looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Fernandez tries to bench press Oflifanov off him but Oflifanov keeps the position.
Fernandez gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Oflifanov tries to pass to full mount but Fernandez defends it.

Fernandez is looking for a kimura but Oflifanov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fernandez to get the leverage.

Fernandez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Oflifanov is just riding it out for now. Fernandez eventually gives up the hold.
We've been hearing that Fernandez has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
