Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andre Nguyen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jerry Diaz will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andre Nguyen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerry Diaz!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz doesn't manage to clinch there - Nguyen circles away.
Nguyen is looking for a counter combo.

Nguyen gets caught napping as Diaz dives in and scores a takedown. Nguyen manages to retain guard.
Nguyen pulls Diaz in close to his closed guard and prevents Diaz from doing any damage or advancing position.
Nguyen really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
Diaz keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Nguyen's head.
Diaz wants to control from the top but Nguyen keeps moving.

Diaz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Nguyen seems keen to control Diaz's posture.
Nguyen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Nguyen looking for a guillotine here but Diaz defends easily.
Nguyen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Nguyen controlling the position.
Nguyen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Diaz throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Diaz wants to pass the guard but Nguyen is keeping the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Nguyen darts in and clinches Diaz up against the cage.

Diaz wants the takedown. Nguyen is fighting it off but Diaz persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Nguyen's guard against the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Diaz is pushing down on Nguyen's leg trying to pass to half guard. Nguyen is fighting to maintain full guard but Diaz has managed to sneak the leg through.

Nguyen wants to sweep but Diaz has passed to side control!
Nguyen is not content to let Diaz control the position.
Nguyen regains half guard there - taking advantage of Diaz's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nguyen slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Nguyen is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Nguyen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Diaz pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Nguyen tries to clinch up but Diaz circles away and keeps his distance.

Nguyen is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Nguyen's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Nguyen has his feet on Diaz's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Diaz shoots in and gets a takedown into Nguyen's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nguyen looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nguyen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nguyen is pulling down on Diaz's head. It's preventing any offense from Diaz, at least for the moment.

Nguyen looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Diaz has picked Nguyen up and slammed him! Nguyen can't keep hold of the triangle and Diaz manages to pass to side control!

Diaz throws an elbow but Nguyen slips to the side and avoids it well.

Diaz stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Diaz clinches up with Nguyen and pushes him back against the cage.

Diaz is fighting off a takedown attempt but Nguyen is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Diaz to the mat. Diaz regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Diaz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nguyen defends it easily.
Nguyen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Diaz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Diaz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Nguyen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nguyen has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted.
Nguyen with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Nguyen is working Diaz over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Diaz is trying to trip Nguyen. He has hold of a leg but Nguyen is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Diaz persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Diaz wants to control from the top but Nguyen keeps moving.

Nguyen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Nguyen lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
