Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 41 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sir Comstock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marvin Andrews!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Andrews might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Andrews throws a strike but Comstock avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Comstock has momentary wrist control but Andrews slips an elbow through the middle.

Andrews postures up in Comstock's guard and throws a big left but Comstock blocks it.
Andrews has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Andrews throws an elbow that misses. Comstock uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Andrews's guard. Nice move by Comstock!

Comstock wants to get up but he can't break Andrews's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Comstock has Andrews pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Andrews manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Comstock has Andrews pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Comstock pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Andrews tumbling to the mat - Comstock dives into Andrews's guard.

Andrews throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Comstock escapes and throws Andrews's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Andrews can't do much from the bottom here.
Andrews might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Comstock haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Andrews is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
