Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mr Blood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cristen Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mr Blood has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mr Blood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cristen Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blood looks to score with a jab to the body but Shaw is just out of range.
Shaw lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Shaw goes for a double leg but Blood avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Blood continues to drive forward.
Blood lands a jab-cross combination.
Blood connects with a solid leg kick.
Decent striking displayed by Blood there.
Blood wants to clinch up but Shaw keeps it at a distance.

Shaw is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Blood's half guard.
Shaw lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Blood is looking to escape.
Blood on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Blood tries to get out of the position.

Shaw escapes and gets back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Blood fails in his attempt to clinch.
Blood shoots in for a takedown but Shaw shows good takedown defense.
Shaw throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Blood counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Blood wants to stand but Shaw has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Blood wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Shaw uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Blood wants to stand and escape but instead Shaw has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Blood definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Blood wants to get back to his feet but Shaw is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Shaw controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
It looks like Shaw might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Shaw wants to pass the guard but Blood is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Blood wants to stand up but Shaw is controlling him.

Blood is looking to stand up but Shaw isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Shaw has a takedown stuffed.

Blood shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Shaw manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Shaw is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Blood defends well.
Shaw looks winded!

Shaw is trying to control the position but Blood postures up.
Blood would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Shaw is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Blood throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Mr Blood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blood doesn't manage to clinch there - Shaw circles away.

Blood looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Shaw!

Blood has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Blood closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Shaw did well to prevent Blood getting side control.
Blood tries to stand but can't do so whilst Shaw controls his leg.

Blood stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Shaw to get to his feet.

Shaw takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Blood cracks Shaw with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Blood closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Blood throws a shot to the body.
Blood leaves Shaw with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Shaw counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Shaw pulls guard successfully.
Shaw manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Blood manages to get himself to full guard.

Blood wants to stand and escape but Shaw is having none of it.
Blood trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Shaw is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blood is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shaw can do to turn this around?

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Blood scrambles and gets back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Blood fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shaw sprawls well initially but Blood persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Blood wants to stand up but Shaw is controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shaw trying to hold on to Blood's head to control him but Blood postures up.

Blood decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Blood lands a body shot.
Shaw with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Blood to score with a decent uppercut.

Shaw gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Blood tries to stand but Shaw is controlling from the bottom.

Blood gets to his feet - Shaw follows without any prompting.

Blood moves into the clinch.
Blood is looking to break free of the clinch but Shaw has double underhooks.

Blood escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Blood closes the distance and clinches.

Shaw gets caught napping as Blood dives in and scores a takedown. Shaw manages to retain guard.
Blood knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shaw on the ground.

Blood tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shaw swats him away and circles back towards the center.
And Shaw responds with a good body kick, but Blood manages to step out the way in time.

Shaw fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Blood lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Shaw blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Blood is looking to break free of the clinch but Shaw has double underhooks.

Blood breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Blood.
Blood throws a one two combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Blood scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Nice straight punches there by Blood. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Blood.

Blood gets the takedown into side control.

Blood stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Blood shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Shaw manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Blood fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shaw manages to avoid it.

Blood feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Blood decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Blood digs a good body shot into Shaw's ribs.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Shaw enables Blood to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Shaw manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Blood closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Shaw is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Blood seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Blood decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Blood closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Shaw did well to prevent Blood getting side control.

Well Blood has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
