The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Permitis looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

It looks like Francois Permitis has been cut.
Francois Permitis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
An inside leg kick lands from Ikerson.
Ikerson throws a right hand that misses

and Permitis counters with a single leg into guard. Ikerson didn't expect that.
Ikerson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Permitis works over Ikerson with some ground and pound from guard.

Ikerson wants to control position but Permitis is using a can opener to pass guard... He's turned it into a full on guillotine from mount now! Big trouble for Ikerson here! He's turning a lovely shade of purple and yep! He's tapping out! I would say world class Jiu Jitsu but is it really? It was nice but let's not get silly about it.
