Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michael Murdock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Teixeira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murdock displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Teixeira throws out the jab.
Teixeira comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Murdock misses with a head kick.
Murdock lands with a thumping leg kick.
Nice body kick there by Murdock.
Murdock cracks the inside of Teixeira's front leg.
Murdock misses the shot to the body.
Murdock throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Teixeira's head.

It looks like Paul Teixeira has been cut.
Murdock tries to land a front kick but Teixeira steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Teixeira looks to throw the jab but Murdock is out of range.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Murdock - that will leave a mark!
Murdock ducks under a wild hook from Teixeira.
It appears Murdock was looking to counter with a kick there.
Teixeira ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Murdock moves away.
Michael Murdock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Teixeira gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Murdock counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Murdock throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Teixeira keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

A solid body kick from Murdock.
Murdock throws a head kick but Teixeira moves out of range.
Teixeira tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Teixeira avoids the body shot from Murdock.
Teixeira blocks a head kick by Murdock.

Teixeira manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Murdock on his heels. He'll look to pass Murdock's guard now, I'm sure.
Murdock wants to get back to his feet but Teixeira passes into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Murdock has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Teixeira is working away from the top position though.

Murdock pushes Teixeira off, looking to escape but Teixeira dives into side control. He's locked up a kimura now - that was fast! He's cranking on it and Murdock is forced to tap! The fight is over!
