Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cornelis Spilbergen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Capwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cornelis Spilbergen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mason Capwell!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Capwell closes this distance looking for a takedown but Spilbergen circles away.
Spilbergen seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Spilbergen tries to clinch there but Capwell circles away.
Capwell fails to land the takedown.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Spilbergen enables Capwell to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Spilbergen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Spilbergen can't keep his opponent in guard - Capwell advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Capwell in particular looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Capwell passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Spilbergen!

Let's hope that Capwell has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Capwell's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spilbergen wants to control his opponent's hands but Capwell gets his hands free.
Spilbergen can't escape the position.

Capwell keeps control of the position easily here as Spilbergen tries to buck him off.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Capwell.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Capwell looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Spilbergen is fending him off so far but Capwell persists. Nope, Spilbergen circles away and we're back to standing.
Spilbergen was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Capwell bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Capwell is continuing to stall.

Capwell gets to mount! Spilbergen was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Capwell has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Spilbergen is trying to escape the mount but Capwell keeps good control and instead manages to take Spilbergen's back.
Spilbergen tries to escape but Capwell has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Capwell keeps control of the position easily here as Spilbergen tries to buck him off.
You can see the frustration on Spilbergen's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mason Capwell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Spilbergen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Capwell looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Spilbergen wants to control but Capwell is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Spilbergen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Capwell wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Spilbergen gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Mason Capwell is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

What can Spilbergen do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Mason Capwell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Capwell winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
