Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Cheatly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Zack England!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

England feints and as Cheatly raises his hands in defense, England changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
England cracks Cheatly with a solid left hand.
Cheatly is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
England trying to control but Cheatly is working from the bottom.

Cheatly pushes England off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Cheatly has England up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Cheatly is trying to work for a single leg takedown but England pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Cheatly content to slow the pace in the clinch.
England is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Cheatly is defending well for now.

England gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

and England counters with a crisp one two that drops Cheatly! England thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Cheatly to his feet! Cheatly is in big trouble!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
England throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

England slows down the pace here.

England decides to pull guard.
England wants to sweep but no luck.
Cheatly throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
England throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
England tries to strike from the bottom.
England is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

England is stalling here. Cheatly is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! England seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Cheatly has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

England is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Cheatly off and has taken his back!

England patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Will England go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Cheatly is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
England is riding his opponent, not letting Cheatly buck him off.
England's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Cheatly.

England manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cheatly manages to get himself to full guard.

Cheatly throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around England's waist but England gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cheatly off to one side.

England gets tackled into the cage by Cheatly. Cheatly maintains the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

England must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cheatly throws his legs up looking for a submission but England uses it to pass to side control.

England is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cheatly has escaped the position, nice work there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cheatly is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

England wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cheatly keeps working.

England tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no England has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

England goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Cheatly has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for England but great work by Cheatly.
