Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kirk Hale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peppy Foxworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kirk Hale has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kirk Hale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Peppy Foxworth!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Foxworth is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hale's half guard.
Foxworth is looking to advance position but Hale won't allow it.
Foxworth not doing much here.
Hale wants to improve his position but Foxworth is controlling well.
Hale is looking to control Foxworth's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hale avoid being mounted?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hale pushes Foxworth off looking to stand but Foxworth dives back in and keeps control.

Foxworth is just content to waste time from the top position. Hale takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hale really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hale wants to stand but Foxworth is controlling the position.

Hale can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Foxworth controls the pace.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Foxworth accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Foxworth wants to stand but Hale is controlling his posture from full guard.
Foxworth with a flurry of punches that miss.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Foxworth stays in close to Hale's body and controls the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hale fails with the takedown.

Foxworth closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hale to the mat! Hale manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Foxworth slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Let's hope that Foxworth has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Hale is working an open guard so Foxworth takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Foxworth waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hale.

Hale tries to keep at a distance but Foxworth has taken the fight into the clinch.

Foxworth has clasped his hands together around Hale's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Hale is looking to reverse the position.
You can see the frustration on Hale's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hale wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Foxworth is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hale knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peppy Foxworth dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Hale fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hale fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Foxworth avoids it really well and circles away.
Foxworth throws a leg kick
and Hale counters with a series of strikes. Foxworth will be more careful next time no doubt.

Foxworth is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Hale wants to stand and escape but Foxworth is having none of it.
Foxworth sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hale's guard.
Hale knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Foxworth on the ground.
Foxworth is taking a breather. Hale says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Foxworth seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hale does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Foxworth works his way into full mount!

Foxworth is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hale can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Foxworth takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hale is squirming around, avoiding Foxworth's attempts to control the action.
Foxworth controlling the pace for now.
Foxworth throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Hale because Foxworth loaded up on that one.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Foxworth throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Foxworth throwing strikes here but Hale is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Hale wants to hold on but Foxworth pushes him away.

Peppy Foxworth has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hale is just holding on here. Foxworth manages to take his back.

Peppy Foxworth showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hale enables Foxworth to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hale manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Hale working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Foxworth doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Foxworth manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Foxworth is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Foxworth thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Foxworth passes to side control.

Peppy Foxworth comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Foxworth has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
