Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stu Bennett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Koko!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koko misses with a lunging right hand
and Bennett counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Koko scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Koko fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Bennett is out of range.
Koko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bennett swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bennett ducks under a wild hook from Koko.
A slapping body kick lands there for Koko.
Bennett scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Koko gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Bennett is trying to drag Koko to the mat but Koko just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Koko throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Bennett can't get the takedown.
Koko makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Koko lands a hook that snaps the head of Bennett backwards.

Koko throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bennetts head.

Bennett gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Koko controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Koko makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Koko.
Koko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Koko wants to stand and escape but Bennett is having none of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Koko lands a leg kick that knocks Bennett off balance momentarily.
Koko scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Bennett misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Koko keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Bennett throws a lazy right hand but Koko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bennett throws out a loose jab but Koko uses good head movement to avoid it.
Koko appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Koko stalling in the clinch but Bennett improves position.
Koko misses with a punch to the body.
Koko lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Bennett jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Koko walks away with a smile on his face. Bennett gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stu Bennett. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bennett is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Bennett moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Bennett tries to score with a low kick but Koko moves his leg out of the way.
Koko tries to clinch but Bennett is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A telegraphed right hand from Koko misses the target.
Bennett connects with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bennett walks into a stiff left hand from Koko.


Bennett is rocked!
Koko pounces like a tiger and cracks Bennett with a vicious hook! Bennett is down but not out! Koko follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Michael Koko!
