Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kieko Lynn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Willie Franks !
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Chris Dean and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franks fails to land with a series of punches.
Decent striking displayed by Lynn there.
Lynn misses with a double jab.
Franks keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lynn.
Lynn throws a hook to the side of Franks 's head but Franks sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lynn keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Lynn missing with a left hand there. Franks was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Franks takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Franks has managed to clinch.
Lynn tries for a takedown. No joy.
Franks works on Lynn's body with a couple of short punches.
Franks has had enough of the clinch but Lynn keeps him there for the moment.
Franks wants to break free but Lynn has control.
Lynn breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lynn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Franks misses with a wild body shot.
Lynn looks to score with a jab to the body but Franks is just out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Franks throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lynn appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Lynn swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Franks is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Franks closes the distance looking to clinch
and Lynn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Franks 's guard.
Franks is wriggling around but Lynn manages to pass to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Franks can do anything to dispel that myth.
Franks wants to get back to his feet.
Franks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lynn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lynn is working for a kimura but Franks is defending it quite comfortably.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Well, if Lynn is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Franks looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Franks is in trouble now - Lynn has advanced to mount!
Franks has left one of his arms exposed and Lynn doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Franks screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
