PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jaakko Parantainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parantainen's entrance music is Cryin' Like A Bitch - Godsmack. A fine choice. Li is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by 2pac - hit em up. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parantainen misses with a head kick.
Li tries to counter with a clinch but Parantainen shakes him off and moves away.
Li fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Li has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Parantainen.

Parantainen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Li on his heels. He'll look to pass Li's guard now, I'm sure.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Li will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Parantainen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Parantainen makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Parantainen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Li is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Parantainen lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Li is still in real trouble! Can Parantainen finish him?
Li flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Li is not content to let Parantainen control the position.
Parantainen lands a big elbow - Li is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Parantainen!

In his post fight interview, Jaakko Parantainen started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
