Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Demetrius Farmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smaukka Maestro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Demetrius Farmer has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Demetrius Farmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Smaukka Maestro!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maestro goes for a double leg but Farmer avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Farmer continues to drive forward.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maestro won't allow Farmer to get back to his feet.
Maestro is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Farmer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Maestro defends well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Maestro moves into the clinch.
Maestro has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Farmer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Maestro blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Maestro has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Farmer uses from the top position.

A close second round but Smaukka Maestro will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Farmer is pressed up against the cage. Maestro has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Farmer down to the mat. Farmer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Maestro is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Farmer presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Farmer fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Maestro avoids it really well and circles away.

Well Maestro has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
