Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mr Steel Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kai Kha!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kha tries to keep at a distance but Steel Penn has taken the fight into the clinch.

Steel Penn gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Kha wants to sweep but no luck.
Kha looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Steel Penn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kha is keeping the position for now.
Kha looking to hit a scissor sweep but Steel Penn is one step ahead there.
Steel Penn has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Steel Penn is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kha is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Steel Penn preventing the sweep.
Steel Penn advances to half guard.
Steel Penn with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Kha tries to get to full guard but Steel Penn has control of the leg.
Steel Penn wants to pass the guard but Kha is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Steel Penn with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Kha felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Kha is looking to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kha fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Steel Penn checks it well.
Steel Penn doesn't manage to clinch there - Kha circles away.
Kha only half commits to the counter leg kick.
A cross from Kha lands.


It looks like Mr Steel Penn has been cut.
Kha swats away the attempt to clinch by Steel Penn.
Kha's jab looks to have found its range, popping Steel Penn under the eye.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kha dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Steel Penn.
Kha tries to work over Steel Penn's front leg with a kick but Steel Penn checks it.
Steel Penn tries to clinch but Kha moves out of range.
Kha looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Kai Kha is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Steel Penn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kha paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kha feints a counter leg kick.
Steel Penn takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Steel Penn fails with the takedown
and Kha scores with a counter punch that sends Steel Penn to the canvas! Kha smells blood - he's punishing Steel Penn with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Steel Penn has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kai Kha!
Our winner, Kai Kha, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
