Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edward Stoker and John Swanson. The crowd seem to be enjoying Swanson's choice of entrance music: The Devil You Know. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 wins, 8 losses and 1 draws, fighting out of New York, Edward Stoker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 wins, 8 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Swanson!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swanson swings for the body but Stoker moves out of range.
Stoker ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Swanson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stoker swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Swanson's corner calls for a 1-2. Swanson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Stoker avoids a kick to the body.
A little feinted left hand from Stoker on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Swanson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Stoker's hands.
Stoker takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Stoker has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Swanson.
Stoker checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Stoker misses the shot to the body.
Stoker throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Swanson's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Swanson scores with a crisp jab that stopped Stoker in his tracks.

Swanson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Swanson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Stoker connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Swanson scrambles back to his feet.

Stoker has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Swanson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Swanson throws a jab but it's blocked by Stoker.

Swanson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stoker on his heels. He'll look to pass Stoker's guard now, I'm sure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Swanson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Swanson throws an elbow that misses. Stoker uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Swanson's guard. Nice move by Stoker!

Swanson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Swanson wants to sweep here but Stoker controlling him for the moment.
Swanson controls Stoker momentarily but Stoker frees himself.
Swanson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stoker manages to get himself to full guard.

Swanson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Swanson looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Stoker puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Stoker is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Swanson wants to get back to full guard but Stoker has mounted him!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Edward Stoker will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

John Swanson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looked like Stoker wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Stoker checks a leg kick.
Stoker swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Swanson thows a body kick. Stoker tries to catch it but that hurt him.

That has opened up John Swanson's cut even more.
Stoker ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Swanson moves away.
Stoker looks to land a combination. Swanson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Swanson takes a swing at Stoker's ribcage but misses.

Swanson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stoker.
A quick step to the side and Stoker tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Stoker counters with a three punch combo that has Swanson backing up. Swanson nods at Stoker to acknowledge the strikes.

John Swanson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Stoker is looking to counter with head kicks.
Stoker uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Swanson.
Swanson throws out a loose jab but Stoker uses good head movement to avoid it.
Stoker lands with a hook. Swanson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Swanson throws a low kick, looking for Stoker's leg but Stoker calmly moves out of range.
Stoker lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Stoker fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Swanson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Swanson has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Swanson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Edward Stoker!
Our winner, Edward Stoker, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
