Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Davison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davison comes to the ring accompanied by Not Today by Sevendust. Blaze comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Monster by Skillet kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Davison!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Blaze!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jonathan Paton and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davison throws a hook but Blaze blocks it.
Davison will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Blaze defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Davison.
A countering left hand to the body from Blaze misses.
Blaze keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Blaze swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Blaze catches Davison with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!


It looks like Chris Davison has been cut.
Davison shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Blaze sprawls well. Blaze wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Davison gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Davison. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Davison gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Davison takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Good standup being displayed there by Blaze as he connects with a hook.
Davison dives in and grabs Blaze's left leg, looking for a takedown. Blaze pushes down on Davison's head and hops out.
Davison tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Blaze swivels and escapes.
Blaze stuns Davison with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Blaze cracks Davison with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

A cross from Blaze lands.


Chris Davison's cut is getting worse.
Chris Davison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blaze swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Davison.
Davison throws a leg kick but Blaze moved away.
Blaze throws a counter combo.
Blaze misses with a jab, cross combination.
Blaze lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Blaze lands a lovely overhand right.
Blaze ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Blaze throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Blaze misses with a body kick.
No luck for Davison with that takedown attempt.
Davison blocks a jab.
Davison throws a sloppy head kick and Blaze moves out of range easily.
Blaze connects with a good right hand that stumbles Davison. Davison circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Horrible takedown attempt by Davison or perhaps it was just good defense by Blaze, which made it look bad.
Davison shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Blaze as he jumps to the side.
Blaze has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Blaze moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Davison goes down! Can Blaze finish him!?


Davison is rocked!


Chris Davison's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Davison controls Blaze momentarily but Blaze frees himself.
Oh Davison is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Blaze drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Blaze jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Blaze is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Davison seems to have got his legs back now.
Blaze missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Blaze drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Davison dives on top into guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Blaze takes a swing at Davison's ribcage but misses.
Blaze has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Davison changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blaze tries to avoid it but Davison manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blaze to the ground. Blaze escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No luck for Davison with that takedown attempt.

Blaze avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Blaze clobbers Davison with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Blaze tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Davison was well out of range. Poor timing from Blaze.
Davison throws a lazy uppercut
and Blaze counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Blaze throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Blaze scores with a hook to the body. Davison takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Davison walks straight into a right hand from Blaze - that's dropped him! Blaze jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Davison from any more punishment! Davison complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Johnny Blaze!
Johnny Blaze is the new light heavyweight champion!
A less than humble Johnny Blaze misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
