Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tillion.
Lawson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Lawson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Tillions jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Tillion shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lawson defends it nicely.

Tillion chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lawson can pounce on him.

and Lawson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Tillion's knee momentarily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Lawson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Tillion will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
