Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DBrickashaw Stevens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vertongen manages to avoid it.
Vertongen uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Stevens looks to score with a jab to the body but Vertongen is just out of range.
Vertongen has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
An inside leg kick lands from Vertongen.
Vertongen rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Stevens counters with a nice uppercut.
Vertongen lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Stevens throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Vertongen throws a low kick, looking for Stevens's leg but Stevens calmly moves out of range.

Vertongen throws out a counter right but Stevens avoids it with no problem.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vertongen cracks Stevens with an open hand slap.
Vertongen with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Vertongen throws a lazy right hand but Stevens sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Stevens looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Stevens misses with a looping right.
Vertongen throws a low kick but it's checked well by Stevens.

Vertongen fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Stevens is out of range.
Stevens throws a hook to the side of Vertongen's head but Vertongen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Vertongen misses the jab.
Stevens swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Stevens slips under a jab.
Stevens pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Vertongen back to the ropes. Stevens follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Stevens swings for the body but Vertongen moves out of range.
Stevens throws a hook to the side of Vertongen's head but Vertongen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Vertongen throws a body shot but no joy.
Vertongen jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
A jab from Vertongen misses.
Stevens swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Stevens throws a jab but it's blocked by Vertongen.
Vertongen tries to move into range but Stevens moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Stevens looks to score with a jab to the body but Vertongen is just out of range.
Vertongen misses with a low kick as Stevens jumps back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stevens lands with a cross.
Vertongen moves away from the strike by Stevens.
Stevens swings for the body but Vertongen moves out of range.
Vertongen only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Stevens jabs at Vertongen's body.
Stevens stuns Vertongen with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Nice cross by Stevens.
Stevens connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Vertongen misses with a right hand
and Stevens counters with a straight right hand.
Vertongen doesn't manage to clinch there - Stevens circles away.
Vertongen throws a hook to the side of Stevens's head but Stevens sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Stevens throws a looping overhand right but Vertongen ducks down to avoid it.
Stevens chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Vertongen can pounce on him.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Vertongen misses with a leg kick.
Vertongen tries to score with a low kick but Stevens moves his leg out of the way.
Vertongen turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Vertongen tries to clinch up but Stevens circles away and keeps his distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that DBrickashaw Stevens will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Vertongen gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Stevens connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A decent looking cross lands there for Stevens.
Stevens scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Vertongen misses with a body shot.
Stevens was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Stevens uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vertongen.
A slow jab from Vertongen misses its intended target.
Jab, jab by Stevens - just one landing.
Stevens throws a body punch but Vertongen moves out of range.

Vertongen is rocked!
Vertongen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Stevens.
Vertongen unleashes a big counter combination but Stevens bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Stevens blocks a jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stevens connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Vertongen is looking to chop away at Stevens's legs.

Stevens clips Vertongen with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Vertongen a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.
Vertongen is still on wobbly legs! Can Stevens finish him?
Vertongen throws a hook but Stevens blocks it.
Stevens closes the distance and catches Vertongen with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Vertongen is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Vertongen is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Vertongen is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Stevens takes it!
