The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sumerod shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Sumerod scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Sumerod thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Sumerod throwing shots but Spleeth is blocking nicely.
Spleeth has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sumerod is working away from the top position though.
Sumerod takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Spleeth is trying to get back to full guard.
Sumerod misses with a head shot. Spleeth uses the momentum to regain guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sumerod content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Spleeth has locked up a guillotine! Spleeth's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Sumerod is holding on here and Spleeth must be using up a lot of energy. Sumerod has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Spleeth gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

After the fight, Yancy Spleeth was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
