Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Good (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deontaye LightsOut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Good!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Deontaye LightsOut!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Good shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with LightsOut but LightsOut pushes him off and we're back to square one.
LightsOut is looking for the big counter here.
Good tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but LightsOut paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Good throws a left and a right that both miss

and LightsOut counters with a single leg into guard. Good didn't expect that.
Good looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
LightsOut is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Good is working an open guard so LightsOut takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Good misses with a takedown attempt - LightsOut sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Good scores with a jab to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.

LightsOut rushes Good and presses him up against the cage.

LightsOut pulls Good into guard.
LightsOut wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Good trying to control the position from guard on top but LightsOut is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Good avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Good has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
LightsOut is looking to stand up but Good isn't so interested in that idea.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - LightsOut has eaten all the pies!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Good throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as LightsOut works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
LightsOut manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Good manages to get himself to full guard.


Good looking for a guillotine here but LightsOut defends easily.
LightsOut wants to stand but Good has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
LightsOut controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Good will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Good looking to hit a scissor sweep but LightsOut is one step ahead there.
LightsOut working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
LightsOut controls from within his opponent's guard.
LightsOut preventing the sweep.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

LightsOut has taken the fight to the clinch.
LightsOut tries to land knees in the clinch but Good avoids the damage to the body.

LightsOut gets control of Good's arms and successfully pulls guard. LightsOut will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
LightsOut bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Good's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Deontaye LightsOut dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


LightsOut swings and misses with a hook to the body.

LightsOut clinches up against the cage.

LightsOut has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Good uses from the top position.

Good is sitting in close to LightsOut's body. LightsOut has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Good is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Good is tapping! That was a very nice submission by LightsOut.
