Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Toby Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Burma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coleman comes to the cage accompanied by 21 Questions. Toby Coleman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Toby Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johnny Burma!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burma closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Coleman to the mat! Coleman manages to get full guard.
Coleman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Burma landing with the ground and pound.
Coleman is looking to stand up but Burma isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burma scoring with some ground and pound.
Coleman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Burma is controlling him.
Burma advances position into side control!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Coleman takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Burma is chipping away with strikes.
Burma trying to control the action but Coleman is working from the bottom.
Coleman is working to avoid the ground and pound but Burma connects with a decent elbow.

Coleman pushes Burma away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Burma gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Coleman seems a little lost for a moment, as Burma dominates the positioning.
Coleman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Burma on the ground.
Burma grinds an elbow into Coleman's temple.
Coleman tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Burma has the hooks in. Coleman is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Oooh a big shot gets through from Burma. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Burma is riding his opponent, not letting Coleman buck him off.
Coleman rolls, trying to escape but Burma keeps control of the position.
Coleman is covering up but some of the strikes from Burma are getting through and doing damage.
Coleman is trying to stand back up.
Burma has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Burma connects with a big shot to the side of Coleman's head.

Can Coleman hold on?! Burma is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Coleman manages to escape to his feet.

Burma stands up over Coleman, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Burma with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Burma is taking a breather. Coleman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Coleman tries to get to full guard but Burma has control of the leg.
Burma lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Burma passes to full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Coleman's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Coleman wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Burma postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Coleman looks a forlorn figure.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Burma dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Coleman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Burma.
And Burma tries to counter it with a takedown but Coleman pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Burma throws a leg kick but Coleman sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Coleman misses with the combination.
Coleman throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Burma has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Coleman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Coleman pushes Burma off and scrambles back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Burma gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Coleman throws a right and a left that both miss.
Coleman moves out of range as Burma throws a body kick.

Coleman throws a series of punches but Burma moves out of range.
Burma dodges the punch combination from Coleman.
Coleman throws a right hand that Burma ducks under and follows up with a left that Burma also avoids with ease.
Coleman misses with a hook.

Burma showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Coleman.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Coleman tries a head kick but it misses.
Burma changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Coleman manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Burma is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Coleman pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Burma moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Coleman has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Burma has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Coleman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close second round but I would say that Toby Coleman will probably get the nod.
