The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cuida swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Cuida closes the distance and pushes Sirven back into the cage.
Sirven misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Cuida is pressed up against the cage. Sirven has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cuida down to the mat. Cuida avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

We've been hearing good reports from Sirven's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sirven winds up and cracks Cuida with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sirven lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Cuida quite badly. Cuida pulls Sirven in close trying to recover. Sirven postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Cuida on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Cuida doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jacque Sirven!

A relieved looking Jacque Sirven thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Gray Cuida spoke after the fight, saying 'This is why I run...'.
