Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zlad Masters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arny Mclean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arny Mclean has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zlad Masters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Arny Mclean!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mclean closes the distance and clinches.

Mclean decides to pull guard.
Mclean thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mclean looking for a sweep. Not yet Mclean, not yet.
Mclean manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Masters manages to get himself to full guard.

Masters has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mclean can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mclean stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Masters swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Masters escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mclean gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mclean must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mclean stands and throws Masters's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Masters is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Elite Strikers, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Masters pushes Mclean away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Mclean gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Mclean bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Mclean is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Masters knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Let's hope that Mclean has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mclean can do anything to dispel that myth.

Masters is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Mclean gets his way!

Well Mclean has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
