Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hung Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Happy Gilmore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hung Kerr has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hung Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Happy Gilmore!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kerr moves into the clinch.
Gilmore wants a takedown.
Kerr has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gilmore avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Kerr breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kerr drives through and clinches with Gilmore against the cage.
Gilmore misses with a hook to the ribs.
Gilmore is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Kerr prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kerr has Gilmore pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gilmore looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Gilmore just leaning against Kerr, taking a breather.

Kerr trying to control the position but instead, Gilmore has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kerr into the cage.

Kerr is working for takedown but Gilmore is calmly controlling the position for now.
Gilmore is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Kerr slowing the pace effectively.
Gilmore tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kerr avoids it.
Kerr drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gilmore pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hung Kerr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kerr throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Kerr clinches up with Gilmore and pushes him back against the cage.
Kerr is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Gilmore gets control of Kerr's arms and successfully pulls guard. Gilmore will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Kerr wants to get up but he can't break Gilmore's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gilmore holds on and takes a little breather.
Gilmore is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gilmore slows the pace down in half guard.
Let's hope that Gilmore has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Kerr is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gilmore pulls his head out easily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Gilmore content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Kerr trying to get back to full guard but Gilmore takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gilmore is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kerr can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Gilmore dives in and scores a takedown into Kerr's guard.
Gilmore's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gilmore has gone for a leg lock! Kerr slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gilmore's guard.

Kerr has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Gilmore is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gilmore wants to sweep here but Kerr controlling him for the moment.

Gilmore is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Gilmore drives through with a takedown into Kerr's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Gilmore's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Gilmore got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kerr has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gilmore has managed to get both his arms back between Kerr's legs - danger averted.
Kerr wants to sweep here but Gilmore controlling him for the moment.

Gilmore is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kerr is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kerr has escaped and now he's on top!

Gilmore had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kerr defends it easily.
Gilmore has his hands on Kerr's head, controlling the position.
Gilmore is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gilmore manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kerr manages to get himself to full guard.


Kerr looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gilmore has picked Kerr up and slammed him! Kerr can't keep hold of the triangle and Gilmore manages to pass to side control!

Kerr tries to buck Gilmore off but Gilmore is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Happy Gilmore showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Kerr's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

and Kerr counters with a left and a right that stings Gilmore.

Hung Kerr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Happy Gilmore.

Kerr has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gilmore can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Gilmore doesn't manage to clinch there - Kerr circles away.
Gilmore tries to close the distance and clinch but Kerr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kerr appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Gilmore closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kerr did well to prevent Gilmore getting side control.

Kerr might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kerr won't allow Gilmore to pass to mount.

Gilmore seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Kerr is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
