Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 wins, 6 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Tokyo, Tommy Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 wins, 0 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Tokyo, Mamoru Date!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Date cracks Taylor with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Taylor has his takedown stuffed

and Date counters by clinching up.
Taylor is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Taylor is breathing heavily.
A nice left hand lands by Date.
We've been informed that Date has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Taylor wants to take the fight to the mat but Date manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Taylor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A short uppercut from Date.
Date throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Taylors head.
Date lands a left hand that snaps the head of Taylor backwards.
Taylor has Date pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Date manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Date.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Taylor changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Date fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Nice shot lands for Date.
Date steps in with a hook that catches Taylor right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Date follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Taylor looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mamoru Date!
