The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Day gets tackled into the cage by Brown. Brown maintains the clinch.
Brown misses with a punch on the inside.
A body shot lands from Brown.
Day misses with some punches.
Day swings away with an uppercut that misses.
A nice right hand lands inside from Day.
Day gets through Brown's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Day tries to break free but Brown pushes him back against the cage.
Day misses with a hook to the ribs.
Brown wants to take the fight to the mat but Day manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Brown blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Brown breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brown ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Day scores with a jab.
Brown throws an overhand right that lands on Day's shoulder, as Day tries to avoid the shot.
Brown slips under a jab from Day.
Day misses with a jab, cross combination.
Brown lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brown swings for the body but Day moves out of range.
Brown shoots for a takedown but Day saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Brown defending well as Day loads up on a big left hand.
Day misses with a right hand

and Brown counters with a nice double leg into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown is looking to advance position but Day won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brown wants to work for an arm triangle but Day is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Brown is taking a breather. Day says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Brown is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Day defends it well.
Day moves into full guard.

Brown looking to improve position, pressing down on Day's thigh with his hand. Day seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Brown paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Brown's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Day picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
