Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Blair Melton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlo De Rossi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blair Melton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlo De Rossi!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Rossi lands a body shot.
De Rossi throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
De Rossi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Melton really is a fat lump.
A combination from De Rossi does no damage.
De Rossi is looking to score with low kicks.
De Rossi scores with a shot to the body.
De Rossi lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
De Rossi scores with a jab to the jaw.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
De Rossi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Melton counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Melton is standing up over De Rossi. De Rossi looks to escape but Melton dives into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.


Melton is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. De Rossi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
De Rossi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Melton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Melton tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Melton has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if De Rossi can do anything to dispel that myth.

De Rossi is looking for a sweep.
De Rossi throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Melton has control of an arm but De Rossi manages to advance to Melton's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De Rossi doesn't have the hooks in and Melton manages to turn into his guard.

Melton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Melton throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Melton is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

De Rossi looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Melton gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
De Rossi fails to land with a series of punches.
Melton appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
De Rossi pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Melton back to the cage. De Rossi follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
De Rossi takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Carlo De Rossi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De Rossi looks to land a combination but Melton avoids it well.
De Rossi closes the distance and lands a one-two.
De Rossi throws a head kick but Melton moves out of range.
De Rossi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Melton throws a counter high kick but De Rossi was just alert enough to avoid it.
Melton shoots for a double leg takedown but De Rossi sprawls well. He's pushed Melton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
De Rossi scores with a jab to the head.
De Rossi lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

De Rossi throws a push kick but Melton slaps the foot to one side.

and Melton counters with a shoot takedown. De Rossi fights it but they end up in guard.

De Rossi pushes Melton off and gets back to his feet.
De Rossi connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Melton takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Nice jab there from De Rossi.
De Rossi throws a one two combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Melton on the wrong end of a nice jab.
De Rossi dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Melton fails to land the takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
De Rossi digs a good hook to Melton's body.
De Rossi throws a shot to the body.
De Rossi throws a good cross that connects.
De Rossi lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Melton at a distance.
De Rossi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Melton.
De Rossi throws a body kick, spinning off balance

so Melton counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De Rossi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Melton throwing strikes but missing.
Melton chips away with some ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
De Rossi wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Melton is now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlo De Rossi dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

De Rossi throws a nice looking combination but Melton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Melton will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Melton is trying hard to land a takedown here. De Rossi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
De Rossi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Melton manages to avoid it.
De Rossi throws a shot to the body.
Nice takedown defense from De Rossi. No joy for Melton on that attempt.
It seemed like De Rossi was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Blair Melton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
De Rossi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
This has been an exciting period of action!
De Rossi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
It looked like Melton was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Melton fails with a takedown attempt.

De Rossi lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A jab from De Rossi finds it's way through Melton's defenses.
De Rossi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Melton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says De Rossi as he avoids it easily.

Melton shoots in looking for a takedown but De Rossi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Melton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
De Rossi misses with a body shot.
Melton seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
De Rossi cracks Melton with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
De Rossi lands a nice looking body shot.
De Rossi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Melton takes a jab right on the kisser.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
De Rossi's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and De Rossi duly obliges.

Melton is rocked!
De Rossi connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Melton! He's out on his feet! De Rossi rushes in and drops Melton with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Carlo De Rossi!
