Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lorne Greenebaum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Because I Can (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lorne Greenebaum!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Because I Can!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greenebaum misses with a double jab
and I Can counters with a series of strikes. Greenebaum will be more careful next time no doubt.
I Can tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Greenebaum paws at him with a jab and circles away.
I Can scores with a punch to the head.
Greenebaum slips a straight right by I Can.
I Can's jab looks to have found its range, popping Greenebaum under the eye.
I Can throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
I Can throws a lazy uppercut
and Greenebaum counters with a slapping leg kick.
I Can throws a hook but Greenebaum avoids it easily.
Greenebaum drops down looking for a counter takedown but I Can sprawls and moves away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from I Can enables Greenebaum to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. I Can manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Greenebaum content to stall in guard here.

Greenebaum got a little sloppy there for a moment and I Can has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Greenebaum has managed to get both his arms back between I Can's legs - danger averted.
I Can controls Greenebaum momentarily but Greenebaum frees himself.

I Can is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
I Can trying to keep a closed guard but Greenebaum is proving a slippery customer.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Greenebaum tries to free his leg and advance position but I Can is retaining full guard.
We've been hearing that Greenebaum has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Greenebaum lands a couple of decent looking shots.

I Can wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Greenebaum is now in half guard.

Greenebaum looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Greenebaum breaks I Can's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Greenebaum passes I Can's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
I Can slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Greenebaum distracts I Can with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
I Can wants to sweep here but Greenebaum controlling him for the moment.

Greenebaum passes into side control, despite I Can's attempt to control the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Lorne Greenebaum will probably get the nod.
That's time! Greenebaum's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


I Can misses with a series of wild punches.
I Can connects with a jab.
A nice combination there by I Can.

I Can clinches up with Greenebaum and pushes him back against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by I Can.

Greenebaum manages to break the clinch.
Greenebaum lands with a shot to the body.
I Can throws a hook but Greenebaum blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
I Can walks into a left hand.

Greenebaum buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

I Can tries to clinch but Greenebaum moves out of range.

Greenebaum breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Greenebaum slips a jab from I Can.
I Can looks to land a left hand but Greenebaum moved out of range nicely.

Greenebaum manages to get an easy takedown there - catching I Can on his heels. He'll look to pass I Can's guard now, I'm sure.
Greenebaum works over I Can with some ground and pound from guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
I Can seems keen to control Greenebaum's posture.

I Can throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Greenebaum escapes and throws I Can's legs to the side, diving into side control!
I Can manages to work his way to half guard, despite Greenebaum's best efforts.
Greenebaum seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but I Can does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
I Can gets back to full guard.

I Can escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Greenebaum gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

I Can looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Greenebaum passes into half guard.

I Can keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Greenebaum lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
I Can is in trouble now - Greenebaum has advanced to mount!

Greenebaum is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so I Can is just riding it out for now. Greenebaum eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

I Can might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

I Can takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Greenebaum's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

In his post fight interview, Lorne Greenebaum started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
In defeat, Because I Can stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'm so handsome i'm not surprised this guy was all over me the way he was!'.
