Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Conrad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carlos Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brian Conrad!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anderson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Anderson tries to pull guard but Conrad won't allow it.
Conrad blocks the elbow strike.

Conrad gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Anderson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Conrad doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Conrad manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Conrad wants to get up but he can't break Anderson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Anderson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Conrad escapes and throws Anderson's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Anderson is not content to let Conrad control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Anderson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Anderson wants to get back to his feet but Conrad drags him back down.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Conrad lands some shots froms side control.
Anderson tries to improve position but can't.

Conrad tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Conrad has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Conrad is looking to take a break and control but Anderson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Conrad wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Anderson, who protects the arm well.

Conrad is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Anderson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Anderson tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Conrad lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Anderson down.
Conrad is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Anderson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Anderson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Conrad is controlling him well.
Conrad wants to control but Anderson is keeping him busy.

Anderson sneaks out the side door and pushes Conrad away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Anderson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Anderson gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Conrad pulls guard effortlessly.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brian Conrad dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Anderson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Conrad dodges the punch combination from Anderson.
Conrad defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Anderson.
Anderson wants to clinch but Conrad slips to the side

and Conrad decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Anderson's guard.
Conrad won't allow Anderson to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anderson is trying to control the position but Conrad postures up.
Conrad must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Conrad is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Conrad pushing down on Anderson's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

and Conrad counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


Anderson is rocked!


It looks like Carlos Anderson has been cut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Conrad clinches.
Anderson jumps guard but Conrad stands there with Anderson around his waist. Anderson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Anderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Anderson fails to pull guard.
Conrad tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Conrad jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Anderson walks away with a smile on his face. Conrad gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Anderson throws a sloppy head kick and Conrad moves out of range easily.
Conrad leaves Anderson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Conrad will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Conrad has taken the fight to the clinch.
Conrad has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Conrad wants to break free but Anderson has control.

Conrad drags the fight down to the ground.
Anderson wants to stand but Conrad has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Conrad holds on and takes a little breather.
Anderson wants to pass the guard but Conrad is keeping the position.
Conrad is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Anderson is controlling him.

Conrad throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Conrad is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Conrad doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Anderson won't allow Conrad to sweep him here.

Conrad throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Anderson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Conrad is in Anderson's guard.
Conrad looking to sit in guard and control but Anderson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Conrad looking to hit a scissor sweep but Anderson is one step ahead there.
Anderson wants to control from the top but Conrad keeps moving.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Brian Conrad showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Conrad shoots for a double leg takedown but Anderson sprawls well. He's pushed Conrad's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Conrad moves into the clinch.
Anderson tries to circle away but Conrad has him pinned against the cage.

Anderson moves in looking to clinch but Conrad pushes him off.

Conrad closes the distance and clinches.
Anderson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Conrad has him pressed against the cage.
Anderson tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Conrad avoids it.
Anderson tries for a takedown but Conrad manages to get underhooks.
Conrad is struggling to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Anderson breaks the clinch.

Conrad shoots in and gets a takedown into Anderson's guard.
Conrad lands a couple of elbows.

Conrad slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Anderson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Conrad keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Anderson's head.

Conrad drops back looking for a leg! Anderson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Anderson manages to kick Conrad off! Conrad jumps back into Anderson's guard.

Conrad stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anderson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Anderson keeping moving, preventing Conrad from controlling successfully.

Conrad postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Anderson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Conrad, into his guard.

Conrad looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Anderson wants to control from the top but Conrad keeps moving.
Conrad tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Conrad has his foot on Anderson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Anderson works his way back into a safe position though.
Anderson wants to control from the top but Conrad keeps moving.
Conrad is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Conrad pulls Anderson in to control the position.
Anderson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Carlos Anderson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Anderson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Brian Conrad is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Conrad moves into the clinch.

Well Conrad has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
