Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thatcher Halverson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Hyperion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hyperion keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Halverson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hyperion throws a leg kick which misses Halverson's front leg but catches the back leg as Halverson tries to avoid it.

Hyperion tries to land a front kick but Halverson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Hyperion comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Halverson throws a body shot but no joy.
Halverson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Hyperion lands a nice hook to Halverson's body. Halverson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Hyperion takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Halverson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hyperion tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Halverson is in Hyperion's guard.

Hyperion is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Halverson defends well.
Hyperion really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Halverson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
