PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Aires (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kai Kha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruno Aires!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kai Kha!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kha throws the left hand but Aires avoids the punch easily.
Aires looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Aires fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kha manages to avoid it.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kha has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Aires checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Aires throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kha's head.

It looks like Kai Kha has been cut.

Kha replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Aires blocks it well.

Aires is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Kha is keeping busy.

Aires drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kha pulls his leg out and moves away.
Aires goes for a double leg but Kha avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kha continues to drive forward.

Kha lands a big head kick that sends Aires tumbling to the mat! Kha takes a step backwards and waves Aires back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Aires tries to move into range but Kha moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Aires dips to his left and cracks Kha with an uppercut!
Aires wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Aires shoots for a double leg takedown but Kha sprawls well. He's pushed Aires's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kha appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Aires swings widly with a right hand
and Kha counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Aires is breathing heavily.
Kha misses with an uppercut. Aires saw that one coming.
Aires scores with a jab to the head.
Aires has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kha finds it's way round the side to connect with Aires's head.

Kha was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

A close round but Kai Kha will probably get the nod.

Oh Aires is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kha cracks Aires with a hook to the temple - Aires is on wobbly legs here! Kha swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Aires falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Kha wins by TKO!
