Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nir Sosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Spade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nir Sosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 51 - 29 - 2, fighting out of New York, Scott Spade!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jonathan Paton and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spade throws a shot from downtown. Sosa moves away and avoids it.
Sosa attempts a counter takedown but Spade avoids it well and moves away.
Spade misses with a double jab

and Sosa counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sosa.

Spade had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sosa defends it easily.

Spade looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Spade has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sosa is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Spade.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spade tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Spade is trying to work for a sweep but Sosa has mounted him!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
What can Spade do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Sosa is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Spade wants to control the action here but instead Sosa manages to pass to full mount!

Sosa takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Spade looking to score a takedown here. Sosa is defending well but Spade drives through and ends up in Sosa's guard.
Spade postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Spade accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Spade throws a strike but Sosa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sosa uses his free foot to push down on Spade's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Spade.

Spade is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Sosa off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Spade is looking to pass into half guard but Sosa pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Sosa is in guard.

Sosa is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Spade lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Spade looks to land a right hand but Sosa moved out of range.
Sosa drops down looking for a counter takedown but Spade sprawls and moves away.
Sosa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Spade finds it's way round the side to connect with Sosa's head.

Sosa tries to counter with a takedown but Spade is quick to defend against it.
Spade fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Spade throws a jab but it's blocked by Sosa.
Spade misses with a wild combination.
Sosa changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Sosa takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Spade swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Spade fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Spade throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sosa half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

A slow jab from Spade misses its intended target.
Spade throws a left and a right that both miss

and Sosa counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Sosa is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Sosa's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nir Sosa.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sosa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
