Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mad Rob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edu Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mad Rob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edu Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rob connects with a nice looking jab.
Alvarez checks a leg kick.
Rob with a jab.
Rob looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Rob lands with an overhand left.
Rob really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Alvarez lands a nice hook to Rob's body. Rob takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Rob throws a body shot but no joy.
A head kick by Rob misses
and Alvarez counters with a nice uppercut.
Rob cracks Alvarez with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Rob slips under a jab.
Rob lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Rob lands a front kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alvarez shoots in and bounces Rob off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Rob not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rob is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

and Alvarez counters with a stiff right hand.
Alvarez just misses with a punch to the body.
Rob on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Rob missing with a left hand there. Alvarez was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Mad Rob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rob throws a nice looking combination but Alvarez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Alvarez takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Mad Rob is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alvarez gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Rob misses with a hook. Alvarez ducked under it nicely.
Rob throws an overhand right that lands on Alvarez's shoulder, as Alvarez tries to avoid the shot.
Rob takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Alvarez drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Alvarez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rob misses with a body kick.
Rob lands a head shot.
Rob throws a hook to the side of Alvarez's head but Alvarez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rob tries a head kick but it misses.
Rob slips a jab and a cross from Alvarez.
Rob throws a hook but Alvarez avoids it easily.
Alvarez with the counter takedown but Rob avoids it easily.
Rob lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rob dips to his left and cracks Alvarez with an uppercut!

Rob throws a jab when Alvarez was well out of range.
Rob takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Rob misses with an uppercut.
Rob swings for the body but Alvarez moves out of range.
Rob is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Rob is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Alvarez.
Rob connects with a nice looking jab.
A telegraphed right hand from Rob misses the target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mad Rob dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Rob throws a front kick aimed at Alvarez's knee but Alvarez avoids it well.

Some bone on bone action there as Rob checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Rob wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rob misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alvarez tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

and Alvarez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rob's guard.
Alvarez working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Rob's head.
Oh Rob is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Alvarez postures up in Rob's guard and throws a big left but Rob blocks it.
Rob seems to have got his legs back now.
Rob has momentary wrist control but Alvarez slips an elbow through the middle.
Alvarez looking to sit in guard and control but Rob gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Rob lands a couple of digs.
Rob has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Alvarez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rob throws a strike but Alvarez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

We've been informed that Alvarez has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Rob wants to sweep here but Alvarez controlling him for the moment.

Rob is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Alvarez darts in looking for a takedown but Rob gets double underhooks and turns Alvarez into the cage.
Rob wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Alvarez uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rob.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rob pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Rob turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

and Alvarez counters with a single leg into guard. Rob didn't expect that.
Alvarez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Alvarez tries to free his leg and advance position but Rob is retaining full guard.
Rob bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alvarez's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rob is on top in guard.
