Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 40 - 28 - 1, fighting out of New York, Miko Maia!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robertson misses with a body shot.

Maia rushes Robertson and presses him up against the cage.
Robertson tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Robertson tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Maia's elbow.

Maia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Robertson throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Maia counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Maia looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Maia prevents Robertson from improving his position.
Maia is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Maia scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Robertson wants to get back to his feet.

Maia is working for a submission of some sort.
Maia tries to pass the half guard into mount. Robertson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Maia is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Let's hope that Maia has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maia is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Robertson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Maia.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Maia decides to stand and escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miko Maia dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Robertson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Maia tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Robertson just stands there and leans against the cage.

The crowd are getting on Maia's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
Maia blocking some punches.
Robertson tries to work over Maia's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A head punch on the inside from Robertson fails to land.
Maia is working for takedown but Robertson is calmly controlling the position for now.

Maia pulls guard successfully.
Maia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Robertson is fighting to break Maia's control of his arms but Maia is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Maia has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Robertson doesn't defend quickly enough and Maia has managed to lock this one up! Can Robertson escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Maia on a fantastic submission victory.
