Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Face Trip (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Lepijewitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Lepijewitz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Face Trip!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Daniel Lepijewitz!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Trip dives in and scores a takedown into Lepijewitz's guard.
Trip passes Lepijewitz's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trip performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Lepijewitz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trip. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Trip stands up from half guard.
Lepijewitz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Trip defends it nicely.

Trip avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Trip drives through with a takedown into Lepijewitz's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Lepijewitz looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lepijewitz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Trip controls the pace.

Trip stands and steps away. Lepijewitz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Lepijewitz wants to control but Trip is having none of it.

and Trip holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Lepijewitz jumps guard but Trip turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Face Trip has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Lepijewitz.
Lepijewitz has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Trip's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lepijewitz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trip decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lepijewitz, up you get!
Lepijewitz shoots in but Trip avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Trip tries to counter with a takedown but Lepijewitz is quick to defend against it.

Trip fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lepijewitz, pushing him back against the cage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Trip connects with a knee to the head.
Lepijewitz wants to take the fight to the mat but Trip manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Lepijewitz is trying to pull guard but Trip turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Lepijewitz looks winded!

Trip breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Trip, right into the meat.
Lepijewitz shoots in and drives through. Trip sprawls well.

Trip clinches.

Trip breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Trip has closed the distance and engaged Lepijewitz in a clinch.

Trip breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Trip misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lepijewitz misses with a takedown attempt - Trip sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Face Trip dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Lepijewitz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Trip is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lepijewitz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Trip passes into half guard.
Trip uses his free foot to push down on Lepijewitz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lepijewitz.
Lepijewitz is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Trip lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lepijewitz hang on?
Trip looking to control and managing it successfully.
Face Trip overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Trip blocks Lepijewitz's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Trip dominating with strikes here.
Lepijewitz keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Trip connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Trip stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Trip fails with a takedown attempt.

Trip throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lepijewitz was covering up waiting for the punch and Trip finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lepijewitz tries to strike from the bottom.

Trip forces his way into half guard.
Trip prevents Lepijewitz from improving his position.
Trip content to control rather than advance.

Trip wants to work for an arm triangle but Lepijewitz is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Trip passes to side control.

Trip decides to stand back up.
Trip uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Lepijewitz has time to react.
Lepijewitz misses with a leg kick.

Trip feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lepijewitz is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Lepijewitz is breathing heavily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Trip lands a body punch in the clinch.
Trip stops a takedown attempt from Lepijewitz.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Face Trip dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Trip drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lepijewitz wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Trip is now in half guard.

Trip escapes and gets back to his feet.
Trip shoots for a takedown but Lepijewitz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Trip throws a head kick that Lepijewitz semi-blocks.
Lepijewitz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Trip shoots in and gets a takedown into Lepijewitz's guard.

Lepijewitz pushes Trip off and scrambles back to his feet.
Lepijewitz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Trip misses with a double jab

and Lepijewitz counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Trip pushes Lepijewitz off and gets back to his feet.
Trip is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lepijewitz can do to turn this around?

Lepijewitz with a lazy takedown attempt

and Trip moves into the clinch.

Trip pulls guard effortlessly.
Trip pulls Lepijewitz in close to his closed guard and prevents Lepijewitz from doing any damage or advancing position.
Lepijewitz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Lepijewitz is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Trip has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Lepijewitz is looking to defend but Trip has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Lepijewitz! Trip pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Lepijewitz taps out and this one is all over!
