Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clayton Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Teller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson Teller has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Clayton Cote's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Clayton Cote!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jackson Teller!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teller misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Teller fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cote, pushing him back against the cage.
Teller gets underhooks to prevent Cote's takedown attempt.
Cote wants a takedown.
Cote on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Cote tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clayton Cote. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Teller is trying to trip Cote. He has hold of a leg but Cote is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Teller persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Cote has his feet on Teller's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Cote is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Cote gets caught flat footed, as Teller shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Cote wriggles free and stands up.
Teller looks winded!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cote misses with a takedown attempt - Teller sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Cote tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Teller manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cote tries to clinch there but Teller circles away.
Teller stuffs the takedown.

Teller shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Cote is looking to control Teller's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cote avoid being mounted?
Cote gets back to full guard.

Cote looking to control.
Teller pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cote is keeping the position for now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Teller accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Teller stopping the sweep attempt from Cote.
Cote bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Teller's guard.

Teller is striking from the bottom but Cote uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Cote really is a fat lump.
Teller misses with some strikes from the bottom.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Teller can do anything to dispel that myth.
Teller wants to get back to full guard.
Teller wants to control but Cote is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Teller tries to roll over but Cote keeps him under control.
Cote wants to stand up but Teller is controlling the position.
Teller wants to sweep but Cote has passed to side control!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Teller is trying to buck Cote off.
Teller wants to control but Cote postures up.
Cote throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Cote tries to clinch up.
Teller wants to slow Cote down by chopping away at his legs.

Cote closes the distance and clinches.

Cote successfully pulls guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Clayton Cote dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Teller shoots in and bounces Cote off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Teller won't allow Cote to sweep him here.
Teller really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cote. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Teller wants to control from the top but Cote keeps moving.
Cote manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Teller manages to get himself to full guard.


Teller is working an open guard so Cote takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Teller tried to score with a low kick but Cote checks it.
Teller swats away the attempt to clinch by Cote.
Teller feints the counter takedown.
Nice sprawl there from Teller as Cote shoots in.
Teller is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Teller is breathing heavily.

Teller dives in and scores a takedown into Cote's guard.
Cote trying to keep a closed guard but Teller is proving a slippery customer.

Cote looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Teller trying to control the position from guard on top but Cote is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cote is on top in guard.

Teller keeping moving, preventing Cote from controlling successfully.
Cote is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Teller avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Teller wants to sweep but no luck.
Teller working a defensive guard but Cote manages to pass into side control anyway.
Teller parries the strikes from Cote easily there. Cote is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Teller to escape.
Teller is not content to let Cote control the position.
Cote throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Cote stands up.

Teller shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Cote gets back to full guard.
Teller must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Teller landing with the ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cote lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Teller controls Cote momentarily but Cote frees himself.

Teller working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Cote has passed into half guard!
Teller is trying to control but Cote manages to pass to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Clayton Cote will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


A telegraphed right hand from Teller misses the target.

Teller closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cote to the mat! Cote manages to get full guard.
Cote throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Cote controls Teller momentarily but Teller frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cote striking off his back but it's not causing Teller any problems.
Teller takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Teller postures up.

Teller got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cote has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Teller has managed to get both his arms back between Cote's legs - danger averted.
Teller wants to stand but Cote is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cote trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Teller moves into the clinch.

Teller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cote wants to clinch up but Teller keeps it at a distance.
No luck for Cote with that takedown attempt.

Teller closes the distance and clinches.

Teller's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Teller avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Teller gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Cote jumps guard but Teller stands there with Cote around his waist. Cote gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Cote has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Teller is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clayton Cote. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cote wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Teller gets control of Cote's arms and successfully pulls guard. Teller will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Cote is fighting to break Teller's control of his arms but Teller is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Teller isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Cote stacks Teller on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Cote!

Cote trying to control the position but Teller is working away.
Cote is staying tight to Teller's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Cote tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Teller wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The ground and pound from Cote seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Teller is looking to regain half guard here but Cote keeps moving and retains side control.
Cote is looking to take a break and control but Teller is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jackson Teller comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Cote has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
