PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ian David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigga Gaylord (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gaylord is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Reetua. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
David shoots in for a takedown but Gaylord shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Gaylord throws a counter combo.
David leaves Gaylord with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

David darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gaylord flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
David seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Gaylord gets back to full guard.
Gaylord wants to stand and escape but David is having none of it.
Gaylord is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gaylord is pulling down on David's head. It's preventing any offense from David, at least for the moment.
David stays in close to Gaylord's body and controls the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gaylord works over David's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like Ian David has been cut.
David could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Gaylord looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

David manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Gaylord keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
David misses with a punch on the inside.

Gaylord shoots in for a double leg but David sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
David shoots in but Gaylord avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gaylord lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

David defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gaylord.
Ian David has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nigga Gaylord.

As David backs off Gaylord throws a huge counter combo but David manages to avoid it all.
Ian David seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gaylord shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gaylord throws a combination but it was largely blocked by David.

Gaylord pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces David back to the cage. Gaylord follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looked like David was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Gaylord.
David has a takedown stuffed.

Gaylord fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging David to the ground. Gaylord is now in David's guard.

Gaylord stands up and waves to David to follow him.
David shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gaylord counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Gaylord looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? David is fending him off so far but Gaylord persists. Nope, David circles away and we're back to standing.

David fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gaylord to the ground. David is now in Gaylord's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gaylord is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
David is looking to stand up but Gaylord won't let him.

Gaylord keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

David shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gaylord pinned against the cage. Gaylord gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gaylord is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

David closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Gaylord is trying to control David's posture but David avoids it.
Gaylord has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Gaylord bucks up and tries to throw David off but instead David has got his back!
David is riding his opponent, not letting Gaylord buck him off.

Gaylord manages to stand up with David still on his back. Eventually David drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.
David slaps away a takedown attempt from Gaylord, before circling back to the center of the mat.
David went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Gaylord looks to land a combination. David sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
David tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gaylord defends well and David ends up having to push Gaylord into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
As David backs off Gaylord throws a huge counter combo but David manages to avoid it all.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ian David. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gaylord drops David with a right and a left! Gaylord comes rushing in but David regains his composure and manages to keep Gaylord in guard.

Oh David is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Gaylord shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! David is on queer street and Gaylord is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Nigga Gaylord!
Nigga Gaylord spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
