The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blue bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Blue trying to control the action but Meyers is working from the bottom.
Meyers manages to work his way to half guard, despite Blue's best efforts.

Meyers is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Blue to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Blue shrugs it off.

Meyers stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Meyers closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Blue did well to prevent Meyers getting side control.

Meyers has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Blue is trying to keep an underhook but Meyers manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Blue makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Blue stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meyers swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Meyers tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Meyers has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Blue decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Meyers, up you get!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Blue manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Blue is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Meyers is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Blue's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Blue's back!

Meyers has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Blue has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
