The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
East throws out a leg kick but Maciel moves out of range and East only half commits.
East throws a body shot but no joy.
Good exchange - Maciel coming out on top.
East checks a leg kick.

East throws a head kick that misses.
Maciel half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
East throws a front kick aimed at Maciel's knee but Maciel avoids it well.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Maciel - that will leave a mark!
Maciel lands with a right hand.
East uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Maciel.
East throws a leg kick but Maciel moved away.
East moves away from the strike by Maciel.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
East will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
