Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Linwood Colon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Face Trip (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Linwood Colon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Face Trip!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Trip looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Trip postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Trip won't allow Colon to sweep him here.
Trip stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Colon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Trip controlling from the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Colon holds on and takes a little breather.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Trip drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Trip trying to move into half guard but instead Colon has managed to sweep!

Trip trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Colon manages to pass to mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Colon goes for an armbar but Trip turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Trip.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Colon pulls Trip in close to prevent any damage.

Colon can't keep his opponent in guard - Trip advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Trip looks to land a strike but Colon avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Trip decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Trip closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Trip is keen to just control but Colon is a slippery customer.
Colon is concentrating on defense, preventing Trip from advancing position.
Colon is looking for a sweep. Trip is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Trip is nestled in close to Colon, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Trip looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Trip fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Colon sprawls well initially but Trip persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Colon is trying to maintain the position but Trip is very close to passing his half guard.

Trip is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Colon defends it well.
Colon manages to get to full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Colon is on top in guard.

Colon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Trip has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Colon has managed to get both his arms back between Trip's legs - danger averted.
Colon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Trip is breathing heavily.
Trip looking to control.
Trip preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Trip working a defensive guard but Colon manages to pass into side control anyway.
Trip manages to work his way to half guard, despite Colon's best efforts.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Colon is trying to work for a kimura but Trip is defending well.
Colon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Colon drops an elbow to the side of Trip's head.
Colon uses his free foot to push down on Trip's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Trip.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Colon jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Trip manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Trip really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Colon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Trip is looking for a sweep.

That was a close second round but I would say that Linwood Colon will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Trip tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Colon paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Colon wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Trip is stalling here. Colon is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Trip seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Colon has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Trip takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The fighters are battling for position here. Trip manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Colon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Colon slips nicely into half guard.
Colon lands with a punch from half guard.
Trip makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Trip.

Colon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Trip is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Colon, into his guard.

Trip wants to control from the top but Colon keeps moving.
Trip looking to sit in guard and control but Colon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Linwood Colon.
I think Colon has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
