The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cherry throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rodriguez.
Cherry's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Cherry duly obliges.
Cherry dives in and grabs Rodriguez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rodriguez pushes down on Cherry's head and hops out.

Rodriguez takes the fight into the clinch.
Cherry goes for a takedown attempt but Rodriguez pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Rodriguez rushes Cherry and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Cherry is trying to trip Rodriguez. He has hold of a leg but Rodriguez is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cherry persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Rodriguez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cherry doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Rodriguez is tightening it up a little... Cherry has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Cherry reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Cherry taps out! Nice BJJ there by Rodriguez!
