And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Ruden!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruden goes for a double leg but McLauglin avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as McLauglin continues to drive forward.

McLauglin has managed to clinch.
Ruden is struggling to control the position.

Ruden jumps guard and drags McLauglin to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Ruden is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McLauglin pulls his head out easily.

McLauglin decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Ruden takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Ruden doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
McLauglin checks the leg kick.

McLauglin works Ruden's body with a nice hook.
McLauglin fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ruden.

and McLauglin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


The cut above Joe Ruden's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
McLauglin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McLauglin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McLauglin wants it to stay on the feet.
It appears McLauglin was looking to counter with a kick there.
Edward McLauglin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Ruden.
McLauglin stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
McLauglin feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rudens jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Joe Ruden's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
