Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tony Duncan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alex Reynolds!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duncan shoots in looking for a takedown but Reynolds manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Duncan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Duncan tries for a takedown but Reynolds sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Duncan fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Duncan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duncan wants to control from the top but Reynolds keeps moving.

Duncan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Reynolds is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Duncan definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Reynolds is pulling down on Duncan's head. It's preventing any offense from Duncan, at least for the moment.
Reynolds tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Duncan shoots and misses
and Reynolds counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Duncan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Duncan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Reynolds is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Duncan content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Duncan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Reynolds doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Duncan.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reynolds is looking to control Duncan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Reynolds avoid being mounted?

Duncan content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Duncan is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Duncan is looking for a kimura but Reynolds is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Duncan to get the leverage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Duncan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Reynolds does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Duncan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Reynolds moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Duncan wants to control from the top but Reynolds keeps moving.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Reynolds looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Duncan is trying to trip Reynolds. He has hold of a leg but Reynolds is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Duncan persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Tony Duncan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Reynolds is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Reynolds looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Duncan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Reynolds is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The fighters are battling for position here. Duncan manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Reynolds stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Duncan has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Reynolds manages to get his head free but now Duncan has transitioned to an armbar! Reynolds grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Duncan! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tony Duncan!
