Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emmett Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tad Brokwitzer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tad Brokwitzer will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Brokwitzer postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Smith to stand up.
Brokwitzer stalks Smith and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Smith's face. Smith staggers backwards, shaken.
Smith avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Brokwitzer tries a head kick but it misses.

Brokwitzer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brokwitzer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Brokwitzer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Smith wants to get back to full guard.
Smith is working hard here to advance position.

Smith is defending against the submission attempts here by Brokwitzer.
Smith is in trouble now - Brokwitzer has advanced to mount!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Brokwitzer throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
