Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tarmo Hovi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tuco Salamanca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hovi comes to the cage accompanied by Vesa-Matti Loiri - Armo. Tarmo Hovi has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 17 - 1, fighting out of London, Tarmo Hovi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 2, fighting out of London, Tuco Salamanca!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hovi moves out of range of the body kick from Salamanca.
Salamanca throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Salamanca closes the distance but Hovi moves to the side

so Hovi counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hovi pushes down on Salamanca's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Hovi seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Salamanca can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hovi scoring with strikes to the body and head.

Salamanca kicks off Hovi and gets to his feet.
Hovi walks into a straight right hand from Salamanca.
Salamanca swings for the body but Hovi moves out of range.
A nice leg kick lands there from Salamanca.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Salamanca throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Hovi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hovi lands in his opponent's guard.
Hovi lands a couple of decent looking shots.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hovi slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Salamanca really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hovi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hovi content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Hovi with a nice head shot there.
Hovi keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Salamanca's head.
Hovi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Salamanca is looking to stand up but Hovi isn't so interested in that idea.
Hovi engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Hovi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Salamanca's guard.
Hovi controlling the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hovi takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Well, if Hovi is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Salamanca is looking to escape.
Hovi uses his free foot to push down on Salamanca's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Salamanca.
Hovi looking to finish Salamanca with some ground and pound. This is bad for Salamanca!
Hovi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Hovi fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Hovi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Salamanca wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hovi is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Salamanca is forced to tap! Great finish!
