Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alexander Taran!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson tests Taran's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Thompson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Thompson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Thompson scores with a jab.
Thompson looks to throw the jab but Taran is out of range.
Thompson throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Taran moves into the clinch.

Taran pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Taran shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Thompson tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Taran manages to move to mount!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Taran pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Taran cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thompson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Taran on the ground.

Thompson tries to reverse the position but Taran maintains control.
Taran has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Taran lands a couple of good shots and Thompson has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

A helpless look comes across Thompson 's face. He knows he's trapped as Taran lands a series of unanswered strikes. The ref steps in to stop the fight and this one is in the books!
